Just a few steps away from Père Lachaise, Mama Shelter is opening its rooftop and offering a colorful place for a drink! Multi-colored umbrellas, hammocks, deckchairs, a ping pong table and a barbecue make sure there’s no need for you to hit the road – you just need to travel a few stops on the subway to ease your desire to get away! Settle into one of the beach huts and make the most of the long summer evenings.
♥ Very chic decor
Mama Shelter. 109 rue de Bagnolet, 75020 Paris. Open Monday to Friday from 10am-7pm, and 7pm-11.30pm for a BBQ set menu. €49/person upon reservation.
LES SARDIGNAC SUR LE TOIT
Despite this 300m2 space being on the rooftop of the Etoile Lilas cinema, it does not have high pretensions. In the middle of the 20th arrondissement, the sunny, green place gives you the feeling that you’re far away from Paris. Entry is free, the food is good, and it feels nice to be in the fresh air sipping a mojito whilst the beats from the DJ punctuate your conversations.
♥ Relaxed atmosphere
Les Sardignac sur le toit, 2 place Maquis du Vercors, 75020. Open from midday to midnight from Tuesday to Thursday, and until 1.30am from Friday to Sunday.
LES GALERIES LAFAYETTE
Located 38m above street level, this famous shop is opening up its roof. With a space of 1500 square metres, a giant plant wall, a fashionable bar/restaurant, a lounge feel and a panoramic view over the Eiffel Tower, Montmartre, the Paris Opera and the roofs of the city, les Galeries Lafayette are really showing off.
♥ Simply, the view.
Galeries Lafayette – 40 Boulevard Haussmann, 75009. Every day except Sunday, until 7pm.
Endless art, from top to bottom. Perched on the roof of the National Museum of Modern Art, more commonly known as the Georges Pompidou Centre, the restaurant Le Georges gives you the chance to dine under the luminous skies of Paris and between the structures of the architects Jakob + MacFarlane. It’s a place unlike any other, and the thrills are guaranteed.
♥ Incredible architecture.
Le Georges 19 rue Beaubourg 75004. Every day from midday to 11.30pm upon reservation.
What? Did you say a fashionable place in the 16th arrondissement? Yep, Paris never fails to surprise us. Brasserie Auteuil put down its roots on what was left of the rails of the old Auteuil station. The rooftop isn’t very high, but the space has impressive greenery of all types. Directly facing the south, don’t forget your hat to protect yourself from the rays and sunbathe with no worries on the Peruvian fabric benches.
♥ Countryside feel.
La Brasserie Auteuil, 78 rue d’Auteuil, 75016. Booking recommended. Open from 8am to 2am during the week, until 3am on Fridays and Saturdays.
